Fire Pits and Fireplaces are HOT! According to a recent study by the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA), 94% of members surveyed report fireplaces and fire pits as one of the hottest trends in outdoor living. Additionally, a recent nationwide survey of the top 10 “must-haves” in new construction (conducted by AVID Ratings Co.) ranks the outdoor living room at number five. In fact, the AVID survey revealed that homeowners were willing to forgo a media room or a dining room in favor of an outdoor living space. And, nothing defines a living room—either inside or outside—like a fireplace.
